walk 1
An easy walk north from Wem along green, fenced country paths. You then return to the start down the northern spur of the Shropshire Way.
walk 5
26 gates; 6 stiles.
Rivers, Meadows and a Historic Village Wem. Walk 5 follows the River Roden then passes through the picturesque village of Tilley with its many interesting buildings - including the Tilley Raven Pub!

A short walk around the
back streets, greens
and footpaths of Wem.
This is an accessibility friendly walk.

20 gates; 7 stiles.
Soulton Wood and the Hundred Steps. From the town car park it takes you along quiet lanes, through woods, across meadows with distant views, up the Hundred Steps before returning you to Wem.

A train ride, a country
ramble down the
Shropshire Way via a
Norman Church, back to
Wem.

16 gates; 4 stiles.
An easy/moderate walk heading west out of town and then circling north past the black & white timbered ‘The Ditches Hall’ before going up Belle Vue. After a section of country lanes past Lowe Hall the route returns to Wem via the official footpath diversion avoiding Reeves woodyard.

20 gates; 5 stiles.
From the centre of town we follow the River Roden, passing close to the Ruewood Nature Reserve. It crosses meadows, joins a short section of the Shropshire Way before returning to town.

23 gates; 3 stiles.
This delightful walk
starts with a train from Wem to Yorton. The route then heads up to Clive before ascending Grinshill to witness the amazing views of Shropshire and into Wales. The route follows the Shropshire Way across rolling countryside first to the historic village of Tilley before heading along the banks the River Roden back to Wem.

Wem Parish Paths Partnership is a small group of volunteers dedicated to the upkeep of public footpaths and rights of way across Wem Parishes.
It would also be great to get feedback from the wider community on the state of our footpaths and public rights of wayÂ
