Those of you who avidly follow our activities may remember we were finalising Wem Walk 10. Well, there was only one task remaining before we published – adding the sixth stile, at Brockhurst Farm.

Last Monday the weather was fair and five of us loaded the cars with tools and the bits of stile and headed off to do the deed.

No roots or rocks or other surprises this time. The installation involved adding steps and a finger post to an existing solid fence. We lowered the top rail, added the route marker and walk 10 is ready to be published.

The route? – 4.7 miles/7.6 Km – Wem Jubilee car park, River Roden, Brockhurst Farm (with lovely distant views), Alderley Lane, Wem Cricket Club and back to the car park.

We even had time to install a few WemP3 waymarks along the way – incluing our new strap-on variety for those awkward metal poles.
