Sunday 18th Januarry 2026 was the day Wem Walks 9 & 10 were validated – by having some hardy souls from outside our area walk the walks and prove there are no major problems.
In spite of the questionable weather – it didn’t actually pour with rain – a group of 16 from Prees ‘christened’ number nine: Wem – River Roden – Brockhurst Farm – Aston Hall – Wem.
On the same day the Market Drayton Ramblers (23 bodies) trudged across muddy fields to marvel at the gates and stiles we (and Prees) have installed for walk 9:- Wem – Edstaston – Soulton Hall – Wem. They couldn’t see a lot else because of the mist!
Fresh air, good company and the promise of some excellent walking in the future – just what it’s all about. Look out for the walks which will be published here and on our web page. Cheers.
