A couple of weeks ago, we identified the need for a replacement bridge on the Shropshire Way, just south of Edstaston. Thanks to Aaron from Shropshire Council, the materials were delivered close to the site. However, the last 650 meters of transporting everything, including our tools and two 3-metre-long sleepers, was up to us! It would be true to say getting everything across two fields, over a fence and to the bridge location was the most challenging part of the day.

Removing the old, rotten bridge was easy, it mostly just crumbled away. After a bit of digging, the new sleepers were ready to simply drop in.

While we were in the area, we also installed anti-slip grills on the steps of three stiles and cleared the areas around each stile.
