Monday 11th August, it was hot, dry and the ground like concrete – just the sort of day to repair a double stile?
We’re back on last week’s footpath, repairing the double stile we’ve been putting off tackling. Four of us removed what was left of the old steps, repaired the fence rails and then installed new steps and hand posts. We negotiated the rock hard clay, rubble and tough old roots. The finished product was worth the effort as I’m sure you’ll agree. One more task next week and we can move on to another footpath.
