With a team of just four this week we were wondering which task to tackle. There’s the ever present need to check and clear our walking routes, then there’s surveying and planning our remaining Wem Walk routes but in the end we opted to respond to a request from one of the landowners.
A field near Northwood Villa, had been divided and an old stile recovered to enable walkers to cross the new barbed wire fence. Although the stile had been expertly inserted into the fence it was missing its steps.
After the luxury of the borrowed RTV last week, we were back to using our trundler for getting our equipment across the field to the site.
With the new steps fixed, while we were there we also cleared the path through a gap on the field boundary, finding as we did a line of barbed wire two inches off the ground (discovered by tripping over it). Before finishing off we tidied up around the stile leading from the road into the field.
Lovely weather, great company and a satisfying job done.
