Last Monday saw us looking to future Wem Walks – No 7 in this case. We went out in lovely sunshine and a blustery wind to survey the walk, clear obstructions and start the route instructions process. Wem Walk 7 will start at Bowens Field car park, circle west and north past The Ditches Hall, go via the aptly named Belle Vue, past ‘Hanging’ Judge Jeffreys’ house. To date, we haven’t been able to publish route 7 due to a long awaited footpath diversion to avoid the hazards of the Reeves wood yard. However, today we encountered several new gates and discovered the diversion has been installed – Reeves has done a huge service to the walkers around Wem, a big thank you! Watch out for Wem Walk 7 and several other new walks.
